Fair Grove schools renovate for energy efficiency

Posted online
The Fair Grove R-X School District is undergoing a $1.66 million renovation to create energy savings to the tune of $33,417 a year.

The district has enlisted St. Louis-based Control Technology and Solutions for the project, which is nearly complete, according to company spokeswoman Christy Redmond.

The scope of the project includes new windows, new lay-in ceilings or ceiling tiles and replacing glass with fire-rated walls in the middle and elementary school; upgraded lighting in the middle and elementary school and high school; and a new roof for part of the middle school, Redmond said.

Fair Grove is one of 11 Missouri and Illinois school districts currently working with Control Technology and Solutions. The company is installing $35.2 million in facility upgrades, including a $2.3 million project at Waynesville East Elementary School and a $6.9 million project at Kennett High School, according to a news release.
