Facebook's Zuckerberg called Obama on NSA frustration

Posted online
It seems everyday Americans aren't the only ones frustrated with reported National Security Administration spying. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg personally called President Barack Obama to talk about his concerns, according to Bloomberg.

“The U.S. government should be the champion for the Internet, not a threat,” he wrote in a post on his Facebook page. “They need to be much more transparent about what they’re doing, or otherwise people will believe the worst.”

Bloomberg reports Zuckerberg’s comments follow reports the NSA has been disguising itself as Facebook to gain access to users’ computers for spying, according to documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

The White House confirmed the conversation with Zuckerberg, but declined to give any details.
