Facebook unveiled its plans for a cryptocurrency after six months of news leaks.
Called Libra, the cryptocurrency represents a partnership between Facebook and 27 others.
Facebook's corresponding digital wallet, called Calibra, will be used to send payments.
Libra and Calibra are scheduled to launch in the first half of 2020.
