Facebook 'unintentionally uploaded' millions of email contacts

Facebook officials said the social media network may have “unintentionally uploaded” 1.5 million users' email contacts.

“We estimate that up to 1.5 million people’s email contacts may have been uploaded. These contacts were not shared with anyone and we are deleting them,” Facebook officials told Reuters.

A Business Insider report indicates Facebook harvested email contacts without the knowledge or consent of users.
