Facebook shares close at record high

Facebook’s (Nasdaq: FB) stock is at a new high Monday, driving up the social network’s value by 50 percent this year.

The stock reached a high of $81.89 yesterday before closing at $81.45, a record for the company, according to USA Today.

Along with strong growth in mobile advertising, last week, Citigroup said Facebook-owned Instagram could be worth $35 billion.
