Facebook now lets you post when you're dead

Posted online
Just because you're dead doesn't mean your Facebook profile picture shouldn't be updated from time to time.

In what might be the ultimate friend request, Facebook is allowing users to ask a trusted pal or family member to be a "legacy contact" to manage their page going forward after they're gone, reports CNNMoney.

A legacy contact can change your profile photo, make posts on your behalf and accept or decline new friend requests. They can't monkey with anything you posted while you were still able to update your own status, unless you grant them permission prior to your passing.

If you don't want your Facebook page to live on after you've stopped, you can also delete your page after you die. Instructions on how to do that aren't yet provided in the FAQ, however.
