Facebook gets thumbs-up from feds to buy virtual-reality firm Oculus

The Federal Trade Commission has given Facebook the green light to purchase virtual-reality firm Oculus VR.

According to CNET, the $2 billion deal would give Facebook control of the creator of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

While initially designed for gaming, Facebook has interest in the headset for communication purposes. Locally, a Drury architecture professor has developed software for architects using the technology.
