On Wednesday, Facebook officials released an estimate that Cambridge Analytica may have had access to 87 million users' information – without the users' knowledge. The number cited previously in the breach was estimated to be 50 million.
Eighty-seven million is the maximum number of people who could have been impacted, and the figure was calculated by looking at the most friends users had at one time.
