Facebook yesterday signaled plans to shutter an advertising program that uses data from third-party brokers.
The program allows data brokers to target ads to users of the social network.
"While [data-broker integration] is common industry practice, we believe this step, winding down over the next six months, will help improve people's privacy on Facebook," said Graham Mudd, Facebook's director of monetization product marketing, in a blog post.
