Facebook has banned accounts and pages that officials with the social media network say were involved in a Russian influence operation.
The operation set up around pseudo-media organization Peace Data was designed to appeal to left-wing voters. It attempted to draw their vote away from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Reuters reports.
Twitter also suspended five accounts as part of the operation. Company officials said they could "reliably attribute" the accounts to "Russian state actors."
