FAA: Don't turn on Galaxy Note 7 phones on flights

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is warning airline passengers not to turn on or charge their Samsung Electronics Galaxy Note 7 smartphones during flights or stow them in checked baggage.

The advisory notice is due to concerns over the phone's fire-prone batteries.

Samsung last week issued a recall of all Galaxy Note 7 phones equipped with the faulty batteries.
