Exxon’s accounting practices under investigation

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office is probing Exxon Mobil's accounting practices.

Specifically, the office wants to know why Exxon hasn't written down the value of its assets two years into a pronounced crash in oil prices.

Exxon is the only major oil producer not to take any write-downs due to low prices.
