U.S. oil corporation ExxonMobil has filed suit over a fossil fuel windfall tax in the European Union.
The European Commission is proposing a tax on excess profits from oil and gas companies.
ExxonMobil in the lawsuit alleges the commission does not have the authority to implement such a tax.
