Express Scripts lays off hundreds, including 23 in St. Louis

Express Scripts Holding Co. said Wednesday it is laying off 380 employees nationwide, including 23 in St. Louis.

The majority of the jobs, 250, were cut from Express Scripts' Tampa, Fla., front-end pharmacy, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

In St. Louis, the jobs are mostly corporate sales and account management workers.

Reported in a separate business journal article, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway liquidated its 449,000-share stake in Express Scripts.

Acquired in the third quarter last year, the company liquidated the 449,489 shares at an average price of $78.34.
