Columbus, Ohio-based clothing retailer Express Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
A group led by consumer brand acquisition and management firm WHP Global has signed a nonbinding letter of intent to buy the majority of Express' stores and operations through the bankruptcy proceedings.
Express also is reportedly closing 95 of its Express retail stores and all 10 of its UpWest stores.
