Construction is under way for the expansion of Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility, a Buffalo affiliate of Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar. The project, which is scheduled for completion in one year, will expand the existing facility and add four independent-living triplexes. The project will add 30 beds to the current facility and expand the special-care unit, outpatient rehabilitation services and dining and activity space. It also will add skilled-nursing resident rooms. “We look forward to having more space for daily activities and events,” said Billie Baldwin, RMT, coordinator of the special-care unit, in a news release. “We also are looking forward to welcoming new residents to our facility with the new beds available.” The independent living triplexes will provide living space for residents who want to remain on their own but would like to stay close to medical facilities and daily activity options. The triplexes will be equipped with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, garage and appliances. “We already have 20 people that have turned in applications for the 12 available units. We welcome all applications and hope to be able to provide more units in the future,” said Robert McMillan, Colonial Springs administrator, in the release.
