Ex-McDonald's CEO returns to food biz

Don Thompson, the former CEO of McDonald's, has returned to the food business after leaving the burger chain in early 2015.

Thompson launched Chicago-based venture capital firm Cleveland Avenue, which is focused on food, beverage and restaurant ventures. 

The company's first venture is a concept called Drink, a nonalcoholic beverage bar inside American Eagle Outfitters' flagship store in New York's Times Square.
