Ex-IRA leader turned politician dies at 66

Irish politician Martin McGuinness died from a rare heart disease. He was 66.

The former Irish Republican Army leader became a key negotiator in the Northern Irish peace process.

In protest against an energy scandal, McGuinness in January left his post as deputy first minister in Northern Ireland.
