Scott H. Foster, 48, of Charlotte, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to a federal criminal count of wire fraud in connection with a nearly $300,000 embezzlement scheme at a St. Louis-based security firm.
The U.S. attorney's office in St. Louis identified Foster but not his employer. The St. Louis Business Journal has linked Foster to GardaWorld, previously holding the title of vice president of talent acquisition.
Foster allegedly manipulated the company's human resources system to add an employee account for his "paramour," who reportedly did little work for the business.
