A former accounting supervisor for the Johnson County District Court pleaded guilty to embezzling from her former employer.
Dawna Kellogg admitted to embezzling at least $776,692 from the Kansas court.
Kellogg admitted she stole cash received, such as bail bond payments, and spent or deposited the funds into personal accounts. The embezzlements were covered up by manipulating an unclaimed property account and by issuing checks that were drawn and deposited into the court's bank account, prosecutors said.
