Roseann Bentley, the first woman elected to the Missouri State Senate and a former Greene County Commissioner, says helping younger children through education has been a lifelong goal. Bentley tells Dr. Nancy O’Reilly that it used to be a man’s world when it came to working snd shaping a community. “It’s been wonderful to see the change and to see that women now can step right in and take the positions too,” she said.

A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
