Walton Construction Co. Inc. is the general contractor for Evangel’s new clock tower. Sapp Design Associates Architects PC is the architect. Engineers are Allstate Consultants PC, structural; Smith-Goth Engineers Inc., mechanical electrical; and Scott Consulting Engineers PC, civil. The project, funded by Evangel alumni, has an estimated construction cost of $500,000. Steel work for the tower, which includes a carillon, is up, and framing around the main steel is under way, according to EU spokesman Paul Logsdon. The tower is topped by a 20-foot-tall stainless steel cap with a cross, which Logsdon said serves as a symbol of thanksgiving for 50 years of God’s faithfulness to Evangel. The 74-foot project is scheduled for completion in September.
