Evangel students displaced after power outage

Some 300 Evangel University students living on campus were displaced Friday night after a power outage affected its largest residence hall.

The majority of the students living in Lewis Hall found a place to stay with friends at Evangel's five other residence halls. Lewis Hall resident directors and 35 students were relocated to the Central Bible College campus for the night, according to a news release.

Power was restored to the four-story residence hall by Saturday afternoon. Sheri Phillips, interim vice president for student development, said diagnostics were completed and repairs were made to wire insulation.

As a result of the power outage, the university cancelled final exams scheduled for Saturday.
