Evangel SIFE teaches business in Jamaica

Posted online
The Evangel University Students in Free Enterprise team leaves for Jamaica on Saturday to spend spring break providing business training.

Joining the 23 SIFE members in Montego Bay, Jamaica, will be three high school students and two Evangel faculty members. The group will spend four days teaching business in schools, orphanages and churches, and will then conduct 12 hours of training at the Ocho Rios Teen Challenge Centre, according to an Evangel news release.

"Our students will be implementing the business plans they researched and developed this semester," Evangel business department chairwoman and trip leader Elizabeth Fletcher said in the release. "Through micro-enterprise development, self-sustaining operations are possible."

Five live broadcasts from the trip, including interviews with students and footage of their activities, can be viewed at the link below.

Each student had to raise $1,500 for the trip. The Evangel SIFE team takes an international business-study trip every year.[[In-content Ad]]
