Evangel University has hired a financial consultant from Phoenix as its vice president for business and finance.
Effective July 28, Linda Allen will start in what is effectively the university's chief financial officer role, according to a news release.
“If you drew up an ideal profile of the Evangel CFO, you would ask for a faithful alumnus, strong institutional knowledge, personal humility and a high level of professional experience and success — all in a person who is committed to our mission and future," Evangel Business Department Chairman Bernie Dana said in the release. "Linda brings all of that and more.”
Allen succeeds David Willemsen, who
held the position for about a year. Former Vice President of Business and Finance George Crawford ended a 39-year career at Evangel when he
retired about a year ago.
Currently working as an independent consultant in the Phoenix area, Allen has career experience as director of finance for Northwest Airlines, chief accounting officer with Nextel Partners, vice president of finance for Sprint-Nextel and CFO for cloud communication firm Telesphere Networks.
Allen had served since 2008 on the Evangel Board of Trustees and was chairwoman of its finance committee before she decided to explore taking the vice president role, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
