The new Digital Markets Act has gone into effect in the European Union.
The laws in the act are focused on individual user protection, as well as preventing the spread of harmful content and misinformation, according to Quartz.
The regulations build on last year’s Digital Markets Act, which placed a focus on antitrust reform for large tech firms.
