The European Union is warning that 5G networks could be vulnerable to attack from state-backed hackers.
That's if mobile network operators rely too heavily on suppliers that have "a strong link" to governments that lack "democratic checks and balances."
The EU did not mention China's Huawei, though the warning came after the United States asked its allies not to use the company's 5G equipment.
