EU summit suspended amid deadlock over top job candidates

One day into the European Union summit, leaders broke off their talks amid deep divisions over who should run the project for at least the next five years, The Associated Press reports.

Some officials say the stalemate should lead to “deep changes” on how the EU operates. They plan to resume talks on Tuesday.
