Estate of ex-Pistons owner sues tax business over IRS claim

The estate of former Detroit Pistons owner Bill Davidson is suing a tax business over a recommended plan lawyers say led to a big IRS claim.

Filed Thursday in New York, the lawsuit claims Deloitte Tax LLP created a negligent estate and tax plan.

In July, the estate paid the IRS $388 million to settle a $2.8 billion claim.

Davidson died in 2009 at age 86.
