Walt Disney Co. plans to reduce the workforce at ESPN by about 10%, a source familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
The cuts amount to roughly 500 positions, 300 of which are layoffs and 200 that represent the closure of open positions.
Disney has worked to focus its business on digital streaming as the COVID-19 pandemic cuts into sales.
