ESPN: Most of America rooting for Royals, predicting five games

Posted online
After winning the first two games in Baltimore, nearly half of the country thinks the Kansas City Royals will win the American League Championship Series in five games, according to an ESPN SportsNation poll.

The Royals are two wins away from clinching a trip to the World Series. With the next three games scheduled in Kansas City, Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson predicts the series won't return to Baltimore.

In the ESPN poll, only Maryland believes the Baltimore Orioles will come back to win, with 37 percent saying the O's will take it in seven games. About 68 percent of SportsNation voters want the Royals to advance.

History is on the Royals' side: No team has come back to win an ALCS after losing the first two games at home in the seven game format introduced in 1985. Coincidentally, that's the year the Royals won their only World Series title.

The ALCS resumes tonight.
