Ericsson to cut 3,000 jobs, 900 consultants in Sweden

Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson announced plans Tuesday to slash 3,000 jobs in production, research and development, and sales, as well as 900 consultants in its home country.

The company already announced a $1.1 billion cost-cutting program in 2014.

Ericsson also plans to recruit 1,000 R&D positions in Sweden over the coming three years.
