Ericsson plans to cut 2,200 Swedish jobs

Sweden's Ericsson AB, the world's largest provider of mobile network technology, announced Wednesday it will cut 2,200 jobs in Sweden to improve its profitability.

The jobs would largely be in research and development and supply, according to MarketWatch.

In November, the company launched an efficiency program aimed at cutting yearly costs by $1.1 billion by 2017.
