Eric Schmitt yesterday was sworn in as Missouri's 43rd attorney general.
Schmitt, the former state treasurer, succeeds Sen. Josh Hawley, who left the role after defeating incumbent Claire McCaskill.
"We will honor the law as it has honored us: with a deep level of professionalism guided by the idea to always do what is right and just,” Schmitt said during the ceremony.
