Three weeks after the company reported a massive cyberattack, Equifax CEO Richard Smith stepped down suddenly.
The exit comes a week before the company is scheduled for questioning in front of federal lawmakers.
Smith, who's served as CEO for 12 years, relinquished all claims to a 2017 bonus and $5.2 million in severance. However, he will receive a pension of $18.4 million.
