Epstein family pathologist points to homicide

Posted online

A forensic pathologist hired by Jeffrey Epstein's brother indicated the financier's body showed signs of homicide.

The convicted sex offender was found dead in jail in August of a presumed suicide.

“I think the evidence points to a homicide rather than a suicide,” said Michael Baden, a former New York City medical examiner who was hired by Epstein’s brother. “Because there are three fractures in the hyoid bone, the thyroid cartilage that are very unusual for suicide and more indicative of strangulation — homicidal strangulation."

The comments contradict a medical examiner's ruling that Epstein's death was a suicide.
