Engineers: Deka Engineering LLC

Deka Engineering LLC is the civil engineer for Phase II of Coryell Enterprise’s Hawthorn Suites Apartments on East Republic Road. Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural engineer and HBH Engineers LLC is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. H Design Group LLC is the architect. Civil design work included erosion and sediment control, site grading, drainage and detention design. An existing regional detention pond and an adjacent lot were built under old detention standards without consideration to future development. The city of Springfield required several stormwater model scenarios to determine how to best renovate the basin. Using extensive modeling, Deka was able to enlarge the basin and modify outlet structure to accommodate total build-out of the site without the need for additional ponds or the acquisition of more land to renovate the existing pond.
