Scott Murphree-Roberts, PE, of Scott Consulting Engineers PC is engineer for phase II of the Boonville Avenue Streetscape project for the city of Springfield. Jane Earnhart, RLA, also of SCE, is landscape architect for the approximately $550,000 project, which is scheduled for completion in the spring. The project is on Boonville Avenue between Water and Phelps streets. Hartman & Company Inc. is general contractor. SCE is working with the city to create a sense of place in the new Jordan Valley Park via development of downtown streetscapes. The Boonville Pilot Streetscape, on Boonville from the square to Water Street, was designed by SCE and was the first street to be redeveloped. Phase II will continue the streetscape. As in the pilot portion, design elements of this project include new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, distinctive sidewalk paving design, narrowed street width, landscaping and street trees, irrigation for landscaping, decorative pedestrian streetlights and other utility work. This project will intersect the new Jordan Creek Greenway projects at Water Street. Also included in the project is the reconstruction of a portion of the Mill Street trunk sewer adjacent to the Jordan Creek box culvert.
