Mathews & Associates was engineer for intersection improvements at Battlefield Road and Kansas Expressway for the city of Springfield. Hartman & Company was general contractor for the approximately $1.4 million project, which was completed in June 2003. The design of the reconstructed intersection included dual left-turn lanes, right-turn lanes and six lanes on Kansas Expressway. Other work included design of the signal, sidewalks, pedestrian facilities, storm sewer, lighting, striping and traffic control. The intersection accommodates approximately 57,000 vehicles daily.|ret||ret||tab|
