Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for Missouri State University’s student recreation center in West Plains. Dake Wells Architecture is the architect and interior designer, Meridian Structural Works is the structural engineer, and Olsson Associates Inc. is the civil engineer. A general contractor has not yet been selected for the nearly $2 million project, which will be the first completed under the new campus visioning guide, reinforcing development of a student life quadrangle. The center will have space for basketball, volleyball, racquetball and events, and it also will be a tornado safe room funded in part by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
