Engineer: Olsson Associates Inc.

Olsson Associates Inc. is the civil and site engineer for St. John’s $104 million orthopedic hospital in southeast Springfield for parent entity Mercy. Dallas-based HKS Architects Inc. is the architect of record for the project, and Heideman Associates Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer.  McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. of St. Louis is the general contractor for the roughly 149,000-square-foot project, which will have 48 beds. Olsson Associates worked with Mercy in development agreement negotiations, and the firm’s work also includes performing mass grading, storm- and sanitary-sewer design, land surveying, erosion control monitoring, a geotechnical report and a traffic study. Ground was broken March 30 for the facility, and the estimated completion date is fall 2013.
