Enactus exec to retire, relaunch consulting firm

The executive vice president of Springfield-based international academic and entrepreneurial nonprofit Enactus has set in motion plans to retire at the end of 2013.

Bruce Nasby started with then Students in Free Enterprise in 1998 when the organization's annual budget was $3.7 million, focused only on the U.S. and had more than 500 university teams. Global revenues now exceed $20 million, and the organization has 1,600 participating universities and 62,000 students in 37 countries, according to a news release.

“During these 15 years, Bruce has made significant contributions to the leadership of Enactus in fundraising, development and student programs, and he was instrumental in the international expansion and growth of Enactus,” said Alvin Rohrs, president and CEO of Enactus Worldwide, in the release. “Bruce’s contribution to Enactus will be celebrated this year at various Enactus events around the world."

While with Enactus, Nasby has managed key relationships between the organization and KPMG, Unilever, AIG, Coca-Cola and HSBC. From 2001 to 2007, he led a global operations expansion, helping the nonprofit set up on campuses in 27 countries. He also has spoken on the behalf of Enactus at economic summits in Russia and Kazakhstan and as a guest on NBC’s "Today Show."

Prior to joining Enactus, Nasby operated a Los Angeles-based consulting practice, Nonprofit Management Resources. Nasby, who lives in Springfield, plans to relaunch the firm under the name NGO Global, the release said.
