More than 500 names of senior citizens are available for customers and employees of the utility to purchase gifts. Wish lists include gloves, socks, slippers, blankets, stationary, stamps, pet food and supplies and nonperishable food items.
Several thousand gift deliveries have been made since the Christmas Elves project began in 1987.
To become an elf, visit an Empire District office or the Vantage Point, 2701 S. Bird in Joplin. Select the name and wish list of an elderly recipient, fill all or part of the list and return the wrapped gifts by Dec. 12.
