'Emotional' robot sells out in a minute

Pepper the humanoid robot is so hot that he sold out within a minute, according to his Japanese creator, SoftBank Robotics Corp.

CNN reports only 1,000 models were available for the launch on Saturday. The base price was $1,600, with an additional $200 per month for data and insurance fees.

The robot is just under 4 feet tall, weighs 61 pounds and is designed to recognize facial expressions and tones of voice to determine if people are happy or sad.
