St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. is seeking to buy the portion of Massachusetts software provider AspenTech that it doesn't already own.
Emerson made an offer valued at $6.5 billion to buy all of AspenTech's outstanding shares.
Emerson already owns 57% of AspenTech.
