St. Louis-based Emerson Electric reached a deal to sell its food waste disposal business.
Whirlpool Corp. agreed to purchase InSinkErator for $3 billion in cash.
Emerson officials said the sale of InSinkErator "represents a meaningful step in Emerson’s continued commitment to creating a higher growth, more diversified and cohesive portfolio."
