Elton John is coming to Springfield on April 16 to play a show at Missouri State University's JQH Arena.
John and his band will perform their "Greatest Hits Live" concert, which features recognizable tracks from his career such as "Rocket Man," "Bennie and the Jets," and others, according to a news release.
“Elton John is truly a musical icon and legend,” Keith Boaz, director of JQH Arena, said in the release. “He has performed in front of millions of his fans in sold-out venues across the world.
"It’s a great privilege for JQH Arena to be added to that list and we are thrilled to welcome him."
John's band includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards.
John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s, according to his

Tickets, which go on sale March 19, are $29, $79 and $139 apiece. Tickets will be available at
