Closed since early 2024, longtime Queen City restaurant Ebbets Field reopened today.
Earlier this month, the restaurant at 1027 E. Walnut St. announced on Facebook a March 27 opening day. New ownership is at the helm after Sydney and Jerrad Harris purchased Ebbets Field and its roughly 5,000-square-foot building from Bryan Properties in July 2025, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
According to its Facebook page, the restaurant held a soft opening on March 25, in which 20 winners were selected through a raffle to attend. Each winner drawn was allowed to bring several guests.
In a prior interview with SBJ, Sydney Davis declined to disclose the couple’s investment in Ebbets Field. Referencing founder Nick Russo, who started Ebbets Field in 1981, Davis said she and her husband sought a nostalgic look for the restaurant.
Bryan Properties previously owned the business beginning in late 2018, according to SBJ archives.
