EBay customers must reset passwords after major hack

Posted online
EBay customers are being advised to reset their passwords after the company announced on Wednesday that hackers cracked into its systems two months ago and stole customer data, including names, passwords, email and physical addresses, phone numbers and birth dates, according to CNNMoney.

EBay stated the breach was discovered two weeks ago. It occured when hackers used eBay employees' credentials to hack into eBay's network. The breach has not affected PayPal, eBay's payments processor.

Although eBay passwords are encrypted and tough for hackers to figure out, CNNMoney reports the hackers have physical addresses and phone numbers of those affected and could target them with unsolicited and fraudulent solicitations.
