Jason Hamisak of Nixa and Aaron Underwood of Mountain Grove have been awarded 2000 CAT Dealer Prep Apprenticeship Program Scholarships by Springfield-based E.A. Martin Company. The scholarships entitle the recipients to tuition waivers at Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee, Okla., and cash scholarships awarded each semester.
Hamisak and Underwood are two of seven recipients to receive scholarships from E.A. Martin Company for 2000.
The award is part of the CAT Dealer Prep Training Program, sponsored by E.A. Martin Company in conjunction with four other Caterpillar dealers and Caterpillar Inc. The program offers assistance to students who enroll to train as earthmoving equipment technicians in the Oklahoma State University Heavy Equipment & Vehicle Institute.
Successful completion of the institute's program leads to an associate in applied science degree.
In addition to the scholarship, E.A. Martin Co. provides paid internships and a tool assistance program
Hamisak will graduate from Nixa High School in May 2000. He is a member of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America.
Underwood will graduate from Cabool High School in May 2000. He is a member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society and a second year member of the Ozark Mountain Technical Center in Mountain Grove.
